When I was reading about Nazi German soldiers in Japanese language ( 1995 ), THEY said, ” Theodor Eicke is the commandant of Auschwitz.” — In this book, actually he was so. I felt something suspicious for THEIR saying, so that I checked ‘ The Order of the Death’s Head ( Der Orden unter dem Totenkopf ) by Heinz Höhne.’ It was the book about the history of SS ( Schutzstaffel ). It was difficult to read somehow, and I could not find the name of Theodor Eike but it only mentioned about Rudolph höss.
Needless to say, he is the first commandant of Auschwitz.
I also watched a documentary about Auschwitz as American video, and I found the first commandant of Auschwitz was Rudolph höss ( above the picture ). I fell into some confusion. Something strange was in it.
After years passed ( in 2003 to 2004 ), I checked it on Wikipedia. In this article, Theodor Eicke had become the first commandant of Auschwitz. — I was misunderstanding it. THEY said, ” You are wrong,” however, I could not understand what THEY were saying.
In my memory, this new Eicke involved in the construction of Auschwitz in 1940, he became the commandant of Auschwitz. Then he joined Russian campaign after he released this post to Rudolph Höss in 1941. He fought through at Demyansk Pocket in 1941 to 1942, then he constructed other concentration camp and factories in 1942 to 1943. And then, he died at the battle of Kursk in 1943. — He was quite a busy man, that I remembered.
Present Eicke can have lived little confortable than previous.
May The Earth in peace.
