・In my family, a brother of granduncle suffered a suspicious death with his cousin ( death by drowning ). My grandmother looked at a threat by police, she became frightened. She decided to move to Naha, Okinawa ( 沖縄県那覇市 ), relying on elder sister. Her husband was a shipman on southern sea trade. It was when Japan dominated Taiwan and Korea. There were a lot of jobs in southern sea of Japan.
・After one year, my grandmother went to high school for girls in Nago somehow ( 第三高等女学校, cf. 名護高等学校 ). She had to do a long train movement every day. But she was a diligent girl.
・In 1929, Great Depression occurred. Japan was also swallowed, many companies were bankrupted and people suffered from poverty. Most historian told it the reason which Japan drifted to the right. But the base of militarism was made by Peace Preservation Law in 1925. Because Japanese police had arrested both of socialists and communists in the name of prevent from communist revolution. Japanese society lost the power of improvement.
・In 1931, Manchurian Incident ( 満州事変 ) occurred. Hirohito was surprised at this incident, but he admitted Manchurian Empire after all. Previous Representative said, ” This is wrong for Japan.” or ” I thought it good for Manchurian people.” — A friend of Representative ( New Representative ) asked, ” Is it Kinmochi Saionji ? ” Previous representative answered nothing. — Fumimaro Konoe ( 近衛文麿 ) the future prime minister left from Saionji’s party ( 立憲政友会 : Association of friends of Constitutional Government ) at this time. Saionji became the last Genrō from 1924. — Militarism itself was even seen in Meiji period ( 1868-1912 ). Akiko Yosano ( 与謝野晶子 ) was bashed for making anti-war poem at that time ( 1904 ). As Great Japanese Empire had not lost any war yet, the power of military men was strong. Most of Genrō ( Imperial grants ) were military men. But in general, the militarism was started from this May 15 Incident.
・In 1933, Matsuoka the foreign minister voluntarily withdrew from League of Nations. Previous Representative said, ” He was so fool that he became such a man the after.” — Yosuke Matsuoka joined right party after. New Representative asked Previous Representative, ” Is it Kinmochi Saionji ? ” He answered nothing. He seemed to agree it in silence. ( 1994 )
— There was some disagreement between Saionji’s party and Hirohito.
・In 1933, my granduncle was arrested for organizing communist’s party in Tokuyama, Yamaguchi. It was supposed a fabrication by National Police ( 特別高等警察 : Special Higher Police ). He participated a lot of tenancy disputes, so that Japanese police disliked him. He was in jail for 4 years.
・My grandmother knew a student one below became a teacher faster than her. This student became a teacher of First Higher School for Girls ( cf. 第一高等女学校 ). My grandmother gave up on her dream then married. Her husband was a rich son of hotel manager in Kagoshima, while he was getting a chance of southern sea trade, he found my grandmother. They started a new life with managing an inn.
・Saionji tended to be in ill, Hirohito considered to rule Japan directly. Because government approached to Nazis. Previous Representative said, ” I do not like Nazis to the end, as Hittler’s contempt for Asians. So I wanted my brothers to work harder.” He even said, ” I do not like British. France, too.” ( 1994 )
・In 1935, Imperial Army determined to reinforce Kwantung Army ( 関東軍 ) in Manchuria. The 6th Division in Kumamoto was charged for this mission, where the neighboring prefecture of Kagoshima. It was conducted conscription also in Kagoshima, after local powerful men had negotiated with government, each house gave a son for this conscription. As my grandfather was the second son and another was not except for the first son, he could not help doing without accepting this conscription. My grandmother’s married life was ended only for a half year. My father was born without his father in this year. My father remembered around this time, ” She looked so sad. She could not get along with mother-in-law well, as it was natural there was not her son. This mother-in-law was so skilful that she could manage five hotels even, one was in front of prefectural government building. It was a wooden two-storied hotel, where many governmental officers and military men checked in. I remembered I was usually running on this aisle. My father rarely came back home then soon he sent to Manchuria. I did not remember however, he came back home on every weekend when I was baby.”
・In 1936, February 26 incident ( 二・二六事件 ) occurred. Imperial Army assassinated the prime ministers again. Previous Representative said, ” It was just only troublesome. But I could understand their thought.”
— This incident caused the militarism stronger than ever.
・Konoe became prime minister in 1937. He was a noble who was expected to support Hirohito’s direct ruling. Previous Representative said, ” I expected to him. But he became so. He worried a lot.” ( 1994 ) In exact, after a half year, Imperial Army started The Second China-Japanese War ( 日中戦争 ). Hirohito expected Konoe to stop the overgoing of Imperial Army, but for Konoe himself was the right-wing politician, he opposed this war at first but soon agreed it. He became a flip-flopper. A friend of Previous Representative ( New Representative ) asked him, ” Was Chiang Kai-shek ( 蒋介石 ) bad ? ” Previous Representative answered shortly, ” Yes.” ( 1994 )
— In exact, Chiang Kai-shek modernized China as Japan was a model. He encouraged the industrialization and education in military cliques exceptionally. Some of THEM criticized it, then a friend of Previous Representative corrected the words to, ” Yuan Shikai ( 袁世凱 ) was wrong.” — It looked a safety measure. By the way, Konoe was not tragedy’s prince but just a right-wing politician. My father said, ” He did not believe Japan could win against America, but himself was right-wing. He used Matsuoka as a minister in his government. He frustrated on Paris Peace Conference which did not treat Japan as equally, then he approached to Association of friends of Constitutional Government ( Saionji’s party ). He left for this party after, however, he signed the alliance with Germany and Italy, and enforced National Mobilization Law ( 国家総動員法 ). He even organized Imperial Rule Assistance Association ( 大政翼賛会 ). He made the road to the war.”
・In 1938, 6th Division caused Nanjing Incident ( 南京事件 ) in 1938. It was happened by which 6th Division could not treat too many prisoners of war. They killed about 30,000 soldiers and civilians at this time. It was an incident which was caused by Imperial Army was often under battle without keeping supply and security units. But for my grandfather had already been sent to Manchuria, he did not participate it.
・My granduncle released from jail. There were many darken marks on his body by police had beat. After a half year, he went back to jail. The reason was anything okay on this situation. It was supposed a retaliation when it was enforced National Mobilization Law by Konoe in 1938.
・In 1939, Nomonhan Incident ( ノモンハン事件 ) occurred. It was a battle between Great Japanese Empire and Soviet Union actually. In this battle, both of Imperial Army and Russian army suffered severe damage. Imperial army hid on this result, then they never reflected on the reason why they could not have won the battle. The soldiers who participated on this battle were called ‘ heroes of Nomonhan ‘. Major Tsuji ( at that time ) commanded these soldiers, then he became The Player of Imperial Army. Imperial Army was a strange organization which the soldiers who lost the war could become heroes.
— My grandfather told my father the involvement. But he said, ” I did not shoot any persons after all.” — He was an artillery man. He was supposed to be in Hailar fortress, where was near Nomonhan. But he did not talk about his location and affiliation unit during the war.
・In 1940, after France was fallen by Nazis, Japanese government moved Imperial Army to Indochina using the treaty with Nazis. This stimulated America , then the confrontation became decisive. It was easy idea of that they could use treaty for excuse. Previous Representative justified it, ” It was good for Indochina.” For THEM, booing’s were thrown so that he changed the words to, ” This is bad for Japan, too.” But the booings did not become silent.
— In exact, the domination of Indochina was succeeded rather in the Great Japanese Empire’s colonization. The Imperial Army behaved as the liberators for Asians, they established security. But they could not control mountain tribes in Laos and Cambodia, and the more, they made the resistance like Ho Chi Minh.

・In October 1941, Hideki Tojo was chosen for the prime minister. It was for Konoe the previous prime minister resigned to say that, ” Do the war by whom can believe winning the war.” — It was waiver of responsibility. People around. of Hirohito justified it as ” Detoxify by poison “. — They could not think well. Previous Representative said about this situation, ” We could not do anymore. . .”
・My granduncle was arrested for preventive detention by Special Higher Police. He was in jail while the Pacific War. This arrest joined my mother’s grandfather. He was a higher policeman belonged to Iwakuni department however, he supported Tokuyama department at this time. He charged the investigation of my granduncle’s around in secret. My granduncle was sent to Tokuyama department.
・After the battle of Pearl Harbor, Imperial Army invaded Philippines. The battle with American became severe, they forced the prisoners of war to walk until dying. They did not mind offending for Geneva Conventions about war, because they did not sign it. But for they had signed Hague Conventions, they offended the international law obviously.
・Then they invaded to Malaysia and Singapore. This liberators for Asians slaughtered Chinese Malaysian completely. They did not treat Chinese equally. THEY accused this massacre to Previous Representative. He could not remind it soon. THEY lost the words. Another of THEM asked him, ” What do you think about Korean and Taiwanese ? ” He answered, ” They were Japanese.” — People around him were laughing, but they gave severe eyes to them. He insisted, ” I think so, at least.” ( 1995 )
— Colonized people by Great Japanese Empire were treated as Japanese formally. But they could not understand why Ho Chi Minh had become a resistance.

Japanization was in first. It was just rework of European Imperialism.
・In June 1942, the battle of Midway occurred. Admiral Nagumo lost four carriers. The Ghosts of Imperial pilots ( supposed ) criticised his command ( 1994 ). In 1995, Haraher suddenly revealed and said, ” Zero fighter had a mean.”
— Zero fighter is called formally as ‘ Rei ‘ type carrier fighter ( 零式艦上戦闘機 ). Zero fighter might have had very unfortunate name. As some of THEM were particular about ‘ Rei ‘ and zero ( number 0 ), so I decided to call them as Rei people. Another of THEM called this ‘ Rei ‘ as ghost ( 霊 : rei ).
— Anyway, to watch Kamikaze attack by Zero fighters, Haraher muttered shortly, ” Foolish.” ( 1995 ) The ghosts of Imperial Army ( supposed ) got anger. To see it, SomeONE said back, ” You were arranged to lose the war, ha-ha.” But they asked me with upsetting, ” Don’t you get anger ?! ” — I answered, ” I’m glad you have lost the war.” They left with accusing of me. Previous Representative said, ” Me, too. I declared to become human.” ( 1995 ) — But THEIR anger did not calm and still said Nagumo was Alien or like that until now. THEY did not think about mind-controlled by aliens. THEY supposed to possess to Japanese nationalists even now and the thought of nationalists was seen on THEIR words.
・In August 1942, Imperial Army started the battle of Guadalcanal. THEY just said, ” Reckless. . .” ( 1995 ) It was not certain about THEIR interference. GHQ of Great Japanese Empire supposed to plan it just on desk, then Admiral Yamamoto ordered it. Lt. Colonel Tsuji ( at that time ) commanded the ground units. It was supposed the same case as Marshal Montgomery on Operation Market Garden.
・In May 1943, Imperial Army did Banzai charge ( suicide attack ) at the battle of Attu. After this battle, the survivors of Imperial Army suicided with own hand grenades. U.S. army could only capture 29 soldiers in 2,600.
・In 1943, my grandfather suddenly sent a letter to my grandmother. The letter said that He was in Qiqihar. He could seem to move from the border. Great Japanese Empire considered to send elite units to the Pacific front so that he was sent there as reinforcement. The elite units were annihilated at the battle of Peleliu and others.
・Imperial Army often did ram attack by plane, which was one of the reason that lost veteran pilots. At the battle of Philippine sea, Imperial Navy suffered severe defeat. Then they chose another type of battle, which was Kamikaze attack. The unit was composed by volunteers, however, it was almost mandatory. It was voluntarily mandatory.
・In 1944, as the air bombing on Kagoshima became severe, my grandmother and father had to hide in shelter in many times. So they moved to grandmother’s home in Hikari, Yamaguchi ( 山口県光市 ). It was my granduncle’s home. But he was still in jail. They lived with grandmother’s sister ( elder sister ) near my granduncle’s house. Her sister had already come back here by the war. My grandmother was the richest person in my village.
・In July 1944, Imperial Army annihilated at the battle of Saipan. Admiral Nagumo suicided at this battle, front commanders also did suicide. After losing commanders, Imperial Army continued fighting. Not only Imperial Army did Banzai charge, but just civilians also did Banzai charge. Many soldiers and civilians chose suiciding. U.S. army recorded a woman was jumping into the sea for suicide. 23,000 Japanese soldiers were dead, 8,000 civilians were dead at least.
・In October 1944, the battle of Leyte Gulf occurred. At this war, Admiral Kurita withdrew the battleship Yamato then he saved many Americans as the result. THEY suggested there were men whom THEY wanted to save. Buredoo said, ” We took care of people did not die too many.” ( 1995 ) — It supposed to mean the ancestors of important people for THEM were there. THEY also said that Kurita himself opposed this suicide mission.
・In early 1945, my grandfather suddenly disbursed Kwantung Army and came to Hikari city. He said, ” I’ll went back to Manchuria with recruits.” He came here to conscript young people. My grandmother tried to persuade for stopping his re-volunteer to army, but he did not agree. His long military life changed his character. As the nephew of granduncle was an officer of Navy ( Personnel Bureau in the ministry of Navy ), she asked him for persuading it. The nephew said, ” I proposed it was easy to refuse the conscription. But he did not agree it. He said that he could not refuse it only for himself.”
— Refusal of conscription was easy even in this time. It was only okay to ask the conscription section not for sending conscription warrant. The nephew was an officer of this section. In exact, many people could suppose to escape from conscription, so people ridiculed it that no son of ministers went to the front by conscription. But for my grandfather came back to Japan with coordinates, it became betrayal. After a month, he went back to Manchuria with many recruits.
— My father told me as historian, ” This conscription was started from Fukuoka and Yamaguchi, through Hiroshima, and when reached to Okayama, the war was ended. Japan did not think anything. My father told me that his units did not have any weapons.”
— Great Japanese Empire only maintained as same number of soldiers as Russian army. The numbers of tank, artillery and aircraft were the far less than Russian’s. It was the same case as Great German Empire in 1945.
・In April 1945, the battle of Okinawa ( 沖縄戦 ) started. One fourth of people in Okinawa prefecture were dead by this battle. The people whom my grandmother and her sister had known in Naha were killed a lot. Her sister was not in these victims because she came back home with her husband during the war. My grandmother said, ” The girl who was under one or two class also died by leading schoolgirls.”
— It was supposed ’ Himeyuri students ( ひめゆり学徒隊 ) ‘. But my father suspected this story. Grandmother was a girl of Third Higher School in Nago ( 三高女 ), the girl who died was a girl of First Higher school in Naha ( 一高女 ). They did not know well each other, however, my grandmother heard the story of she became a teacher. Somebody taught it. It might be a conspiration which Yakuza ( cf. 女衒 ) sent young girl to brothel.
・On August 6, an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Parents of my grandmother’s female friend suffered this disaster ( They both died ). The friend went to Hiroshima for finding her parents. My grandmother stopped going, but she did not listen to. So my grandmother’s sister followed her. While she was searching for her parents with half-crazed, she was exposed to radioactive decay. She also died soon. The elder sister did not die soon, however, she was dead by vomiting blood after I was born. It occurred almost 20 years after so that the causation was not clear. My mother just said, ” It looked abnormal.”
・On August 6, my mother’s grandfather called for emergency. He and his coordinates were gathered, they all moved to Hiroshima by train within this day. He charged to rescue suffered people, he did not talk about this situation until he died. He recognized as Hibakusha ( atomic-bombing surviver ).
— My father heard the situation about atomic bombing from his fellow historian. He was a man who had seen this atomic bombing actually. He explained the situation by drawing on a paper. He said, ” I saw a man who died . . . here. . . like this . . . ” He drew a very small man at the edge of large white paper.
— He told it to my father before asked. It was unforgettable memory even if he wanted to forget it.
・On August 9, Soviet Union started invading Manchurian Empire. In the hand, next atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. At this time, my grandfather was in Harbin where GHQ of Kwantung Army stationed. He said to my father after, ” Paratroops were dropped from the sky. My headquarter ordered to withdraw to Yingkou via Dalian.”
— It was a predetermined operation by GHQ of Imperial Army. It was that Kwantung Army would withdraw to North Korea with mobile defence, another unit would withdraw to Dalian. They ignored about Manchurian Japanese because they did not have trains enough to evacuate residents. People had to evacuate with their own. Nothing to say, the families of high officials and railway personnel could be the first to escape. For my grandfather, the way to Yingkou was longer than main island of Japan. In addition, he had to move on foot. Trucks were even shortened on Kwantung Army.
・In summer 1945, when my father was playing in a river, American aircraft was flying through on his head. He told he could see this pilot’s face. The plane could fly at such low attitude. The air supremacy was already in American’s.
A week after, Hikari Naval Arsenal was bombed by U.S. Navy on August 14. It was for this factory made the parts of Kamikaze submarine ( 回天 : Kaiten ). Many people were killed ( 735 people ), a female victim was there in my village. If this bombing would be occurred next day, they all might be able to survive. Because Great Japanese Empire surrendered to Allied Forces next day.
・In August 15, Hirohito broadcast his speech to surrender by radio. Previous Representative said, ” As I thought I did not want to listen to their words anymore, so I surrendered.” ( 1994 )
— It was little too late. Anyway, the war which had claimed the lives of more than 30 million both domestically and internationally was ended only by his speech.
・After the surrender to Allied Forces, Kwantung Army still continued fighting with Soviet Union. The battle with Soviet Union itself was prolonged until September 5. The unit of my grandfather’s only ran away from Russians. They did not have any weapons. After heard of surrender, his headquarter decided to surrender to Russians. It was a very good decision. But they all ( including my grandfather ) sent to Siberia as POW.
— When I was child, his comrades visited to my house and said to my grandmother, “. . . He was Seargent. We are Corporals. His promotion was faster than us, ha-ha . . . When our headquarter decided to surrender, your husband also decided to surrender. We recommended to move the more because it will offend the order, but he decided to wait for Russians with saying it could be allowed for our headquarter’s decision. We divided there. When we moved for a while, we could find truck convoy. We asked them for rescuing us and also all units including your husband, but they refused it. Only us, could rode on truck then we could come back to Japan. . . We’re sorry . . .” — The luck of my grandfather did not come in this time. His original unit was annihilated at the first attack of this battle however.
・Hirohito talked with General McArther. He admired at Hirohito’s attitude, he could keep his Imperial throne. It was supposed that McArther and his GHQ thought him useful for controlling Japan. They had also known that he did not dislike America. He could be survived by political reason. Then he declared he was a human, then became the symbol of Japan. People around him were unbearable however, he mentioned about this intention. Previous Representative repeatedly said, ” The involvement for politics was very danger.”
・After losing the war, my mother’s grandfather buried his katana under the ground of his ancestor’s grave. He did not want to give his samurai soul to Americans. Then he was arrested by American’s military police. He was expelled from public office, and never came back. He recognized as class-C war criminal ( cf. BC級戦犯 ). My mother said, ” I had to listen to my father’s words with sitting by kneeling ( seiza : 正座 ). Everyone told him as fear, but he was always afraid of something. His bosses were supposedly much fearer than. He was treated as newcomer.” — She did not like to talk about her father.
・My grandmother and father could come back to live calmly. The value of yen was collapsed, but for she had already changed her money to buy farms, they could get along anyway. They lived with her elder sister. They did not know where my grandfather was.
・After the war, Special higher police managed brothels for Allied Forces. Both were under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Interior. Special Higher Police supposedly had heavy relationship with brothels and their Yakuza ( 女衒 ; Zegen ).
・In 1947, Shigeru Yoshida ( 吉田茂 ) the prime minister dissolved parliaments as he muttered ” stupid “. My granduncle ran for election from Socialist Party, he became the member of House of Representatives. After a while, it was determined that Hirohito came to my town for the condolence of war-damaged area. Hirohito went to condolences like this energetically, my granduncle responded to visit as host. They rarely talked with each other. My father said, ” He was glaring at the emperor.”
・Late 1947, Japan and Soviet Union talked about the release of POW, in early 1948, the first vessel which carried POWs returned to Sasebo, Japan. My grandmother went there even when she was not noticed whether her husband was alive or not. My father said, ” She went to Sasebo even when it was cold. She did not know the soldiers whom their family did not receive a return warrant could not come back. Nonetheless, she was going to a nearby station whenever she heard of soldiers would come back. But the return warrant was sent to her at last, he would come back. She did not go to Sasebo or Shimonoseki. They both met again at nearby station. He have been in Siberia almost for four years.”
・My family went back to Kagoshima then. My grandfather wanted to manage his inn again. But the place where they had once lived became just a flat ground. He only could rebuild his house. He died soon by the illness of when he had suffered in Siberia, after my uncle was born. My father said, ” He always did coughing. His detention was a bit longer than others. The reason was not certain but it was supposed for his military career was little long that was ten years. However, no one refused to enlist in army at that time. Russians could not know such situation. He said he had to watch Soviet’s propaganda films every day. He said those were full of lies and deceptions but the point of which people could live equally was acceptable.”
・My grandmother talked his mother, then my family went back home to say they did not claim any rights instead of getting money.
・My father went to university, then became a teacher of history. He married with my mother in 1959. It was an arranged marriage between a nephew of socialist and a daughter of nationalist. My father said, ” Went to get an allowance for marriage, her father said just one word ” Good “. Just at this time, there was a job of teacher in Seto Inland Sea, we went there. It was my honeymoon trip.” My mother said, ” I don’t know the behind the scenes of marriage. When my brother asked me, ” Is it okay to marry him ? “, I answered ” Yes.” I went to an outlying island with my husband. It was the time when Black Petals by Hiroshi Mizuhara ( cf. 水原弘『黒い花びら』) was fashioned, you know ? “

He said, ” As I was in a part time teacher longly, I gave it up to write about my mother.” I asked him, ” What type did you write ? ” He answered, ” I wrote pure literature.” — I was laughing.
・When my father led his students to a park, one student found a piece of pottery. My father brought it to his university. It was Yayoi-style earthenware. It started unearthing at this park, my father became studying archeology under this university. The student who had found this Yayoi-style earthenware became studying under my father after.
・In late 1960’s, my uncle went to university where the sectarianism ( cf. セクト主義 ) was fashioned. It came from Japan signed the military alliance with America. Then Vietnam War set fire to this opposition movement. Ho Chi Minh was still fighting with superpowers. My uncle leaned to communism in his university life. Once my father said, ” He is just a sectarian.” But after becoming famous, he changed the words, ” He had run to terrorism. He was just a terrorist.” — I only wondered what made him changed the mind. It was the darkness of Japan for becoming famous.
・In 1969, when my father joined the unearthing of Ayaragi-gou ruin ( cf. 綾羅木郷遺跡 ), this constructors attacked to his archeological team by 10 dozers. It was for the lack of quartz by Vietnam War, the constructor company forced to mine quartz without waiting for archeological investigation. His team stopped mining hardly. — This incident changed the law to be able to archeological investigation freely before constructing or mining. Then it became a global standard. ・In 1970, Japan exposed Osaka Banpaku. It was a declaration of peace and future. In late 1970, Yukio Mishima ( 三島由紀夫 ) suicided by seppuku. He was a nationalistic author who was against peaceful atmosphere in Japan. In early next year, I was born as the third child of my parents. After I was born, my grandmother’s sister died with vomiting blood.
・In 1972, Okinawa returned to Japan. After few years when I was an elementary school student, my grandmother heard the memorial stones of war victims were made, then she went to Okinawa with the survivors of alumni. She found a lot of knowing persons in these stones, she could not look them without tearing.
・My uncle graduated university. He did not participate the movement of Zenkyōtō ( 全共闘 ) , he wanted to move on graduate school. He asked a physics professor to say that, ” I will prove America wrong with making atomic bomb ! ” But the professor did not accept him. He gave up this study then went to Osaka. He became a part-time teacher there.
・In the middle of 1970’s, supercar boom had come in Japan. My brothers and I had a lot of these toy supercars. I even made plastic model cars. When I played with these cars, two old men visited to my grandmother. They were comrades of my grandfather. They told her the situation of his capturing by Russians. They said he was a hero. I could not get information whether he was a hero of Nomonhan.
・In whole 1970’s, Japan Teachers Union ( 日教組 ) tried to repel socialists and communists on teachers. It was for being against Zenkyōtō ( 全共闘 ), they did not want the teachers who had the thought of socialism and communism. They considered such teachers made the students run for terrorism. In such situation, my uncle was driven into suicide. My grandmother got crazy for his death. In his third ceremony, I saw his wife. My father asked her for the situation severely. She defended my uncle painfully. It was repeated questions and answers like that — ” Did he run for terrorism ? ” ” No. He did not ! ” ” Why did he suicide ? ” ” I don’t know. He lived ordinary before the day ! “
・After my uncle died, I saw my father was crying. He said to my mother, ” Chief teacher threatened me ! ” — My father was suspected as communist. It was nothing changed in the age of Great Japanese Empire. The damage expanded to brothers and sisters. But in this time, our family had a daughter of national police did. She listened his whining in silent. It was not certain whether she used the power of nationalist’s network at this time. Anyway, he could survive as a teacher.
・As my father disliked the personal televisions, we could only watch NHK or the TV program of political affairs. But I wanted to watch Japanimations rather, I would often go to my grandmother’s room to watch Japanimations. She was always sewing kimono. She said, ” Bridal kimono will be sold higher.” — After a month, she sewed the kimono up beautifully. To see it, I always wondered what had happened on her. But she did not talk about her marriage so much.
・My granduncle suddenly started agitation in front of steel company. He distributed leaflets alone. It was the accusation of unfair wages and unfair dismissal. There could not be helped because of steal recession, but he was a fighter. He did not stop this distribution even when police came. A man like him supported Japanese economic growth from the bottom.
・My father unearthed Iwakari ruin ( 岩狩遺跡, cf. 光市 ) with taking a leadership. It was a high land village ( cf. 高地性集落 ). My father published thesis about this village, which was considered whether Yayoi period was the age of war, then it was evaluated. This village was unnaturally stood on high place at the beside of river.
・A daughter of my granduncle challenged to the election of my city’s council. My granduncle and her visited my house, then they begged for support. My father also treated them coldly. He tired of socialism. But they even tried to persuade him. The story expanded to my granduncle’s arrest, then my father asked them, ” Did you organize communist’s party in Tokuyama ? ” My granduncle answered, ” No, I did not.” His daughter cut in this conversation, ” It’s really a fabrication by police.” My father asked back, ” Was it able to make a fabrication even in the age of past ? Did Special Higher Police tell a lie ? It was considerable however. . .” — He had already supposed to hear about this story from mother’s grandfather, but he did not say such a thing in front of us. His daughter insisted, ” It’s really true story.” ” No.” — my father denied it. She even told, ” It’s not. It’s a real story. I want to change this politics. Please support us.” ” No, thank you.” — My father refused the support. They left for us in vain.
After their visit, my brother asked worriedly, ” What about was our uncle ? ” — My father answered, ” Uncle was just a sectarian.”
・In early 1980’s, my mother’s grandfather died by illness. He said nothing about my granduncle certainly until dying. In my memory, he looked kind, but my mother did not think so. He was a man who spoke few words.
・I made a plastic model of battleship Yamato. It was a scrap which only could have sunk one destroyer historically. But no one told such a thing. All Japanese told this ship was great. Then I believed so. I was willing to making it. My parents did not stop it. Gradually, there increased a lot of military matters in the town. A famous plastic model company already had started developing plastic models of Nazi tank. My eyes went to them naturally.
・In 1982, when my granduncle watched my city’s council, he lost consciousness, then died. It was the death of a man who called the last member of city council. He was not the member however, as he was always sitting on spectator seat, he was called so.
At his third ceremony ( one year after ), we saw a son of cousin of my granduncle. He talked about whom he was first. His father knew my granduncle well. His father had managed one merchant vessel. He said, ” . . . I don’t know whether my ancestor joined Kiheitai ( 奇兵隊 ) well at Meiji Restoration, my family could have a merchant ship, my father had sent rice to Korea. Nothing to say, the ship was taken for war, and sunk.” Then he muttered something of his father and elder brother died in the ship, but I could not listen clearly. He said, ” As my mother was already dead, I had to live alone. It was very hard life.”
— I found another victim of war. I was ashamed of making the battleship Yamato.
・In 1983, I moved to junior high school in my town. It was the time when school violence was quite prevalent. Teachers treated it with violence. When the delinquents ( 不良 ; The Inferiority ) of other school visited my school, teachers scattered them with punching. There was no problem for teacher’s violence at that time ( In exact, newspaper reported it as incident, but they could continue as teachers, because many parents cheered them ).
— It was a story that it was not certain which persons had violented ahead. I had often heard that teachers insisted the reason of violence was for the student became violent. Other teachers told it was for education. But to see this incident, it was not certain which was ahead. The battle of teachers and students looked the violence made violence.
・I took a test by the head teacher of a grade. The result was 98 points to 100. I found a scoring error on my test. A wrong answer became correct. I told it to this teacher. He was surprised at my action. ” You are honest, aren’t you. ” — He said so, then reduced my score to 96 points. I could not understand what he would talk. Because there was no need to tell a lie. I was the 7th place in my grade even to lose this points.
・My school was ruled by fear. They denied that students would think ( they said children did not think anything ), they also denied girl’s sexuality. One day, I saw girls were beaten severely by the sin of using lipstick. It looked sexy for teachers. They were stood in front of students, then punched by teachers repeatedly until they were turned on the floor. They even bled. But they could not receive any treatment. To see it, the head teacher of a grade shouted, ” You are wrong ! We’ll beat you whenever you are wrong ! Do you understand ?! “
・Girls were not given any changerooms. They had to change clothes in front of boys. Girls in first had to learn how to change clothes without showing their skins. Teachers usually said to us, ” Child is not aware of sexuality.” — But it was another problem.
・There was a rule not to run in the corridor, but students had to move with running at the outside. To move to outside, Students rushed into shoes boxes. They all were pushing each other, sometimes it escalated to quarrel. I remembered I was punched on my back by the reason of my slow moving. Some student overturned but they had to join the field works with bleeding. It was more dangerous to run on the ground than to run in the corridor. But teachers forced students to run in the corridor and on the steps when they wanted students to move quickly ( They banned to run in the corridor ordinarily however ). The reason why not to run on the corridor was only supposed that teachers felt it noisy. Teacher was the rule.
・One teacher beated students by ‘ Spirit Injection Rod ( 精神注入棒 )’. It was an item which militarists had used for the education of soldiers. Real Spirit Injection Rod was hard like which could break the bones, but his rod was a thin wooden stick. They became little democratic. Anyway, in Japanese school, such expression was free. This teacher often told his experience of military affiliation life. It was also free. But I could not see the teachers who told about the life of socialism or communism in my schools.
・One teacher said, ” I would become Yakuza ( anti-social people ) unless I could become a teacher.” He repeated this speech for threatening students. But his skill was so true that no one could be against him.
Yakuza itself had the thought of restoring Great Japanese Empire, they had the experience which they had cooperated with Military Police ( 憲兵 ) and Special Higher Police ( 特高 ). They often participated with the preparation of comfort women ( 従軍慰安婦 ). My father said, ” Because Great Japanese Empire failed to maintain the comfort women, so they used Yakuza. Soon they got the number. The men who had cooperated were still survived. Gōda family ( 合田一家 ) was. ( 2003 )” — It was a story in Yamaguchi prefecture, in North Kyushu, it was said that Kudō family ( 工藤会 ) did it.

— This speech was on right side. It came from the unfounded logic which was often heard on Japan. Many Japanese were possessed such by chosen people thought.
・Sports day was the hell for me. Male students had to done gymnastics in shirtless, I was weak for tanning. Because I had to be in outside for hours, I suffered severe burns all over the body. I became breathless, and always felt hot. I even could not sleep. I consulted with my father, but he did not listen to my words with saying that, ” I was too, when I was a child.” — I felt adults did understand me nothing.
・In my junior high school, teachers always mind-controlled us to say that, ” Society is severer than us ! ” — That was the reason why they treated us severe. I had never seen such severe treatment even now, yet. They deceived us, or they just declared their job was the most terrible one in Japan. They usually had to work almost from 08:00 to 19:00 ( some teacher from 06:00 to 21:00 ). It was natural they would beat students. They justified own violence as that they did the hated role whenever PTA complained about their violence. They raised the head teacher of a grade up to this symbol. He told about it arrogantly, ” I did a hated role ! “
・Whether teachers were always under being stressful, there were often seen that teachers bullied students. One teacher played an autistic student calling as erotic. Because his name was resembled to Japanese word ‘ erotic ‘. This student could not tell anything back to the teacher. He stopped it when he saw students got anger about it. He was an ordinary man unless he did not become a teacher of this school. The violence system changed him clingy. By the way, he was a person in charge of my sport club.
・Japanese club activity was done after school at the school. It was voluntary but almost mandatory. I was not good at exercise so that I did not want it, but there was no choice without joining. As there was the mood that looked down on cultural clubs, I would join exercise club. Students around of me joined exercise club all. Even though I was humble, I did my best then I could become a sub-captain of this club. I even could become one of regular members of this club. But it was painful for students who could not become regular members. Because they only had to repeat the fundamental exercise. There was hardly the hope to become the regular member. As it looked the hell, so I tried to work hard the more. The time to go back home became late in night.
One day, the students who could not become the regular members tried to quit this club. Not the teacher above but other teachers got anger with their actions. They all were called by teachers then beated then had to kneel ( seiza ) for hours. They had to go back to this club. The above clingy teacher was blamed for this silly escapes, then he decided to strengthen the members. There was not needed the weak boys like me. He made me excluded from regular members. I was sent to the hopeless group in this club before the tournament.
However, after I dropped to low-class, I could get many friends. They were really fantastic. But we had to bear the arrogance of teacher until we could have graduated on this club. We did not allow to escape from this club. And we had to bear the clingy teacher’s arrogance. He threatened us when we slacked-off the fundamental exercise. Whenever teacher saw it, he said arrogantly, ” Go home ! ” — He knew well that we could not escape from this club. He even said to me. I decided to go home with my friend. He joined this resistance willingly. Next day, we were called for him and beaten at first. Then he asked, ” Why did you go home yesterday.” My friend answered, ” As you said to go home.” He was beaten. ” And you ? ” — He asked me. I answered shortly, ” Yes. Me too.” I was beaten, too. But it was ended with this. We could become a hero of the day.
In this year, this school was chosen for good health school.
・I learned to tell a lie in this school. It was much safer than to be honest. It was not needed in my life before. — When I played a ball with my classmates in my classroom, the ball hit on a picture flame then it was dropped on the floor. The glass which attached to it was broken ( I remembered the flame had a Kanji calligraphy of ‘ effort ‘ ). Then I told a lie when I reported it to my teacher, that it happened when I cleaned my classroom. Because the school banned to play a ball in a building. Fear came ahead, whether the teacher would beat me. Fear made people changed to be ugly.
・As I became disliking this town, I chose my high school on neighboring city’s. This school was little difficult but it was easy for me. School principal said not to go another city, but I ignored it. In my high school, I always listened overseas music. U-2, Sting, a-ha, and etc. Euro beat fitted me. But I did not become studying. The score of mathematics reached to failing grade. The idea of effort was dropped to somewhere. A teacher who knew my father asked me with getting worried, but I also ignored it. I learned in my school days the way not to express myself. The teacher who had beaten me at junior high school apologized with using teacher’s network, but I also ignored it. The words were come from my father. It was not an issue by using another person. Anyway, I dreamed to become a writer at this time. Studying was the next one. I created a lot.
・My father became famous a little, he became being wanted comments on magazine. When he wrote the comments which his father was detained in Siberia, it stimulated nationalists. They sent the nephew of my granduncle ( he was an officer of Imperial Navy did ), he blamed my father for this comment. It could not make sense for us however, it was also the same as the nephew. He said to my father, ” I think there are a lot of complaint on you, never write such a thing ! I told you. Good-bye.” — He left for us with muttering, ” Why did I say such a thing. . .”
— He was moved by whom had power. Somebody called them ‘ The Organization ‘, which was the remnant of Imperial Army.

By the way, I heard the conversation of my father and the nephew of my granduncle at the side of my father, my elder brother also heard this conversation at the hidden side of there. The nephew reported to command line of that one son heard this conversation. — I had heard this secret conversation. The Organization did not allow to reveal like this threat formally.

・A teacher of world history taught us, ” It isn’t correct actually however, it is easy to remember with thinking that ‘ History repeats itself ‘. This country started this year, then ended this year. Next country was rising this year, then ended this year. . . “
— For the success of college and university examination, teacher taught a lie proudly. There were a lot of lies in Japanese education, they produced many coined words for examination. For example, Spartiatai ( it meant ‘ Spartan ‘ ), Invincible Armada ( it meant Spanish fleet by Philip II ), 則天武后 ( ‘ 武則天 ‘ was right ), shew ( past tense of ‘ show ‘ ), shown ( past participle of ‘ show ‘ ), ain’t ( they explained it as the shortened word of ‘ am not ‘ ), too A to B ( they explained the mean as ‘ cannot do B because A is enough ), do A so that B ( they explained it as ‘ do A due to do B ‘ ), etc.
・The above teacher also said, ” However Jewish and Japanese are clever, they’ve survived as usurers in Europe after.”
— I heard the thought of chosen people again. Students might have been mind-controlled.
・My father became famous the more, he was asked for the comment on local television. During his comments were aired, his character was changed gradually. At first, he became watching personal televisions. So I could watch STAR WARS and Indiana Jones at last. In the hand, he got to say repeatedly, ” I am Non-Poli ( nonpolitical ).” — We knew him well, he was just an archaeologist before he said. He suffered the pressure of Japanese society. But it was strange why he would say so in front of us.
・In 1988, I was threatened by a black mail. The letter introduced himself as Nazi cartoonist. In this time, I sent a lot of posts to magazines, the one which I drew a picture of Nazi tank was stimulated somebody. He had detected my address from other posts, then sent it. I was surprised at his obsession. I sent this black mail to a publisher. Before police came, Asahi Newspaper telephoned me to ask the situation. They could know my telephone number from my letter of a publisher. They advocated me for why I preferred Nazi matter. I got nerve then I argued with them for almost two hours.
This reporter told a lie of his identification. He was a worker of affiliate company with Socialist TV. After the police received this mail, they asked The HJ ( The Hittlerjugend ) for the situation, because they promoted Nazi war games and Nazi cartoons. The HJ could not tell any situation. So they asked the above company, because police thought this TV knew it well. But they did not also know the behind the scenes well. Instead, they sent a worker of affiliate company for the investigation. THEY called him ‘ Myura ‘ after ( 2018 ). This man got a copy of my letter, then telephoned to me. I wrote my house’s number on this letter. He muttered in the air after ( 1993 ), ” This man was crazy.” He quit this company then.
・The Organization wanted to know about how much I had Nazi hobby. Nothing to say, it was a joke, but they did not think so. There was the time when a famous animator drew a story that Nazi tank won the battle, I did not feel any barrior to draw it. One day, my school mate was suddenly saying, ” I never mind dying for a country. ” I thought it a stupid idea, so I persuaded him not to think so. But to hear it, another school mate cut into our conversation and said, ” I can die for a country.” — They did not understand how many people had died for such thought. I continued the persuasion for an hour, but they did not agree my idea. Danger past, God forgotten.
Anyway, the agent of The Organization reported that I was no problem but there were some problems for others. The informer was there in my class. They could influence on anywhere. Japan was a surveillance society.

The blackmailer did it just by his will. Tokyo Police left for the president soon. But people around of the president were afraid of what was happened. So he explained to them, ” Just the guy was wrong.” — He did not tell anything the more. People around of him misunderstood it something of me the sufferer was wrong.

・As I failed to go to university, I went to the preparation school of university in Tokyo. I learned the skill how to go to university there. Teachers of there never mind whether the answer was true or not. The famous phrase which was ‘ Play freely after passing the examination ‘ was even heard. I learned why Japanese student became fool after passing the examination there.
・In late 1989, I sent a lot of application for examination to personal universities. The examination at that time could only be passed only for whom got full points, so we had to take many examinations for going to university. No one could memorize the answers completely ( there was no need to understand the mean of answer. Just memorize. ).
When I submitted the applications, my father suddenly telephoned me to take the examination of education department. He even specified the name of university I had to take. I asked him why, but he did not tell. It was supposedly top secret. Japanese Education would want non-violent teachers at that time, so my father considered me suitable against violent teachers. But I don’t like teachers. I refused it. But for my father telephoned me repeatedly, I just decided only to take an examination of that university.
・In 1990, I started the examination. I got several full-points on self-assessment. Before a day at the examination of that university, my father telephoned me again. I only answered, ” I will go.”— I said I would go but I did not say I passed this examination. I answered the tests slowly. With understanding the means of questions, I could not answer all within the limit time. I realized the skill to answer was very important ( On Japanese language, it was fast to answer from reading the last word. In story question, it was started reading from questions. And first of all, it was faster only to watch sentences than to read sentences. To understand the mean with watching only, there needed to know the question patterns as possible. — Not to do such process, I only could answer a half questions ). At the final test, I saw a very famous associate professor as proctor. All students were surprised at his visit in silence. He was anxious about something to see the students. By the way, when some teacher problematized this gathering of non-violent teachers, he agreed it silently in the air. — I’ve got the same information from two direction.( 2023 )
・I failed this examination however, I had already prepared a fail-safe examination. The examination was so easy that I ended the tests up before 30 minutes to time limit. I checked my answers taking for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes were left. There existed a wrong question which was ‘ What did this people ( Spartan ) call themselves as ? ‘ The answer was ‘ Spartiatai ‘ in Japan. Nothing to say, it was wrong in the world ( true answer was supposed ‘ Lakedaimonai ‘, but it was Attic Greek ). I was in thinking time whether I should have been for long time — It was fail-safe exam, but the answer was wrong. . .. I should have reminded some exams which I assessed at no miss had already been failed. I could not find the reason. I repeated to write and erase the answer of ‘ Spartiatai ‘. While I conflicted with the wrong answer and another, suddenly THE VOICE was jumped into me. It was a girl’s voice, which I could not find it was real or delusion ( I remembered it sounded both exactly ). It was the first time that I heard THE VOICE. The VOIE said, ” It’s okay that they know it well.” — The moment when I heard it, I rewrote the answer to another without hesitation. Then I released this conflict. ・I failed to go to university for this reason. So I decided to become a writer without university’s graduation. I convinced that I would become something. But I did wrong room choice at first. My apartment room was very clean but it was unnaturally cheap. It was the place where Imperial TV monitored for getting a story. But they could not be endurable to see a man who were only hitting a word processor,, they decided to scatter me from my room. Fnr them, I did give any story. They told a lie that I went mad, they called a psychiatrist. As they had such connection, it was easy to do it. One personal hospital applied this offer, this director sent a female psychiatrist. It was Japan where the other sexuality would diagnose the patient.
・I heard the psychiatrist shouted, ” Why will I do such a a thing ?! ” — Imperial TV called a female agent for solving the problem, after a few days, I heard another woman’s voice at the neighboring house in front of my room. She said, ” It did not look mad, do you ? ” Then I became shaking hand unconsciously. While shaking hands, I felt good, but two or three weeks after, I felt the worst. In Autumn, Dalk-0 started insisting I was mad. I was in manic depression cycling by a month. She noticed it to the above psychiatrist, then she told it to her supervisor.
